COME ALONG AND SUPPORT YOUR YOUTH GROUP
Alive! Youth Group was formed in May 2006 as a result of hard work and prayer. A great deal of effort and time has been invested to see this venture on solid ground for our young people within the parish. The Youth Group has now been successfully running for over 2 years with a very good attendance from the youth inside and outside the parish. All who attend are made very welcome. The aims of the group are to provide the young people with a meeting place where they can feel relaxed and able to socialise with their school friends and also make new friends; there is an opportunity to take part in activities such as table tennis, pool, air hockey, table football, dance mats, PS2 games and Wii console games. Also traditional board games are available plus the occasional arts and crafts activities, all within a safe, caring and organised environment.
A well stocked tuck shop is always provided at each meeting to supply refreshments. The Alive! Youth Group meets between 7.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. usually on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month in the Parish Community Hall. We usually have 20-30 young people aged between 10 and 14 attending the sessions. Our leaders and helpers are all volunteers from within the parish community who give their time generously to this worthy cause. We are always looking for more volunteers to enable us to keep the Youth Group running. So if anyone feels they can spare a little time once or twice a month please let us know. It would be great to have an extra pair of hands to help when setting up and clearing away sessions. You can contact the Alive! Youth Group leaders via the parish office.
