The flowers within church are often admired but have you ever realised their relevance to the liturgy and have you ever wondered who prepares them?
We currently have a team of ten flower arrangers, working in pairs, who work on a rota to prepare the flowers on a fortnightly basis: week 1 new arrangements are prepared and week 2 the same arrangements are refreshed.

At Easter and Christmas it is a team effort when everyone arranges together.
Each arranger considers the readings for their weeks and often the flowers are themed to the Gospel readings e.g. at Pentecost you will see vibrant red and orange flowers representing the Holy Spirit, or Jesus will be represented with white flowers at the Feast of the Good Shepherd or Christ the King celebrations. Feasts of Mary will see blue flowers used whenever possible.
